Wheel throwing is the process of forming clay into shapes on a potter’s wheel. It is a common technique for making ceramic mugs, bowls, and plates. There are many possibilities when wheel throwing, from creating replicable, functional forms to creating tall, symmetrical shapes and beyond. In this class, we will cover the basics to wheel throwing.

The maximum number of participants per class is 2. If the requested time falls outside of regular operational hours (10am-5pm) the rate will be $200 per person.

In our Hand-Building class, participants will learn how to make functional and sculptural pottery from scratch. The class will start off with participants hand-building different structures out of clay using molds, stamps and other found objects. With hand-building, the sky is the limit, but some examples of items made are plates, bowls, vases, board games, sculptural decor and more. Fully fired and functional artwork can be picked-up a week after the class is over.

Take this class solo, with a friend or spouse, or with team members as a team building experience. You will leave the class with 1-3 finished pieces, made by hand and with a wealth of knowledge to expand your pottery practice! Suitable for all levels.

This Glazing class is an introduction to ceramics, teaching you step-by-step methods in layering color and glaze on pre-fired pottery peices. Participants will leave with 1 or 2 pieces each (depending on size of object selected) and artwork can be picked-up 3-4 days after each class. Suitable for all levels.

This Printmaking class will cover an introduction to traditional linoleum printing techniques, concepts and methods of creating depth and atmosphere within compositions. Students will learn to cut and print linoleum in 3 layers to create their own unique prints. Take your carved lino home to continue printing your masterpiece as many times as you would like - choose to be led by our teacher, or work solo on an existing piece. Suitable for all levels.

Our Painting classes will give you a basic understanding of how to create a successful acrylic and watercolor painting. You will learn how to incorporate line, color, form and texture within interesting compositions, while looking closely at other local and international painters. Choose a theme to work from, or bring your own ideas! You can be led by our teacher, or use it as studio time for your own work. Suitable for all levels.
